Welcome to the November 2022 SQL Saturday Update. This updates includes a few sections.

It is getting close to the end of 2022 and it’s been a good year for SQL Saturday. We’ve had a number of events and a few more still coming in the next month.

We are starting to look forward to 2023, so if you are interested in organizing an event, please contact us. If you want to see one in your area, please contact your local user group and ask them to work with us to set up an event.

If you have any comments, questions, or ideas, please feel free to reach out to us at admin@sqlsaturday.com.

Thanks for reading,

Steve Jones

SQL Saturday News

SQL Saturday has done well in 2022 with 12 events completed so far. We are hoping to see this grow in 2023 with more events in more places, and hopefully a few larger ones.

Microsoft continues to sponsor events as a global partner and we are passing through 100% of their sponsorship money to the events. SQL Saturday is not charging any fees for this.

I also want to remind people that SQL Saturday is an independent US 501.c.3 corporation organized as a public charity. We are not owned by, or managed by Redgate Software. Redgate donated the brand to the corporation and gave us a grant to run events, but there is no oversight of the corporation. Redgate does maintain a permanent seat on the board of directors, currently occupied by Steve Jones, but has no more influence than any of the other members of the board.

I’m moving November Office Hours slightly as I’ve had a slight conflict.

Please feel free to join or pass this along to others.
